A JW sitcom?
by Island Man inhas anyone ever thought of creating a jw sitcom?
i mean, there's enough humor and drama in jw culture to keep audiences entertained for multiple seasons.
we have judicial committees, c.o.

might work as a web series-not actual TV.
7 storylines are FAR too many for the average viewer to keep track of and would be impossible in a TV sitcom format. Sitcoms have an A and a B story-there is only 22 minutes for everything-opening/closing credits included. Thats only about 10 minutes per storyline.
I would totally see a reality TV show; you can get one greenlit on just about any subject matter, and I'll bet you can find witnesses to be in it. It would quickly fall apart as TPTB put the hammer down on participants in the show.

Swimming and the gym has replaced Sunday meetings
by KateWild inwe went swimming today, and joined up in the gym.
we will go every week on a sunday, and i will go alone twice a week.
i found it particularly easy to get involved with the other gym members in the suana, or playing with our kids in the pool.. we had a really great time, we even had reading time by the pool.

"My son was told it was "bad association" to go to rugby. He went for the first time after a year out yesterday. He really enjoyed it. He's not much into contact sports either."
Of course its Bad Association™! One would be getting dressed and possibly showering with Youths™ that do not Serve God™! In fact, locker rooms have been mentioned twice in the scriptures, both in a Discouraging™ light. How sad it would be if we thought a locker room was an acceptable environment simply because they are not outright condemned in the bible! Only the locker rooms and saunas at Bethel™ would be acceptable. Why, they are so Encouraging™, bible discussions have been held there! Why not set this as a goal for our Young Ones™ instead of the temporary Enjoyment™ of Worldly™ sports?

why isnt the Revelation book on the jw website.
by Sojae ini asked my mother( still very much active).
she said books made from '86 and before would not be online.
so we both looked at her physical revelation book and it was made in 88 so it should be there.

Just wanted to note; Revelation book no longer listed in publications or in WT online library. I assume it is out of print and you can no longer get one unless your hall happens to have stock of them.

What Have You Bought From TV Infomercials?
by minimus inhave you ever bought anything?.
my favorite commercial is the guy that screams because he's trying to clean his ears!
ahhhhhhggghhhh!!!

Don't buy anything from TV commercials. Buy it on Ebay, Amazon, or in a store. Most of the TV infomercial clearinghouses pull scams with your credit card such as extra processing fees, slickly try to sign you up for services, hit your card with extra charges long after you ordered the product, etc.

Demons in a coffee shop? How would you react?
by laverite ini just saw this very short two minute video -- brilliant.
it's gone "viral" on the interwebs/nets.
i couldn't help but imagine that if a jw had been in this coffee shop, s/he would have been screaming "jehovah!

My first thought would be that it was a staged promotional stunt for Agents of Shield or something...there are so many of these youtube stunts now that the skepticism of the public should be increasing exponentially...

Keenen Ivory Wayans on Dave Chappelle, In Living Color and Jehovah's Witnesses
by j dubb indo you think growing up in a strict jehovah's witness household had any influence on you becoming a comedian?.
keenen ivory wayans: i don't think religion has as much impact on me, because my mom was not a jehovah's witness, and she would point out all of the funny and contradictory things about religion.
so we had a unique, side-eye view on religion.. my dad was the jehovah's witness.

Do you think growing up in a strict Jehovah's Witness household had any influence on you becoming a comedian?
Keenen Ivory Wayans: I don't think religion has as much impact on me, because my mom was not a Jehovah's Witness, and she would point out all of the funny and contradictory things about religion. So we had a unique, side-eye view on religion.
My dad was the Jehovah's Witness. My mom was not, and there was always conflict about that. And that was part of the humor of my house. The clashes that ensued were priceless. My mother was brilliant. My mom was one of the funniest people when she was angry. I think that impacted us more than anything. Growing up, when we got mad we tended to think funny.

by Seraphim23 ini often have a pop at certain kinds of atheists but for a change i thought id have a pop at certain kinds of fellow christians.

"Oh, the government is definitely capable of excess. But there is no conspiracy . Blame ignorance, blame incompetence, blame inertia, but it is not a conspiracy ."
Really? Anytime two or more parties secretly collude to accomplish something illegal, immoral, or shady, it is a conspiracy. There are countless conspiracies taking place continually at different levels of government. Anytime two or more congressmen agree to vote a certain way because of political or monetary or other interests hidden to the public or coerce another to vote a certain way, it is a conspiracy.
We know about the few that have actually come to light. My god, our entire banking/financial system is a conpiracy against the public.
